Minister of Energy, Water Resource and Irrigation has inaugurated a private solar plant named Solar Farm Private Limited in Belchautara, Shuklagandaki-5, Tanahu. As stated in RSS, 'The private company is the first one to ink power purchase agreement with the government where the five megawatt power produced from the solar grid was connected to the national grid'.

The plant which generates electricity from solar energy has already produced 5 MW of electricity that was connected to national transmission line from yesterday. Hari Kumar Shrestha, who serves as the manager as well as the shareholder of the project shared with the Rising Nepal that, Nepal Electricity Authority would purchase the power produced from this plant for the next 26 years at Rs 7.430 per unit as currently, some 13,500 panels in the moment were connected to the farm to generate about 24,000 units electricity, daily. On the other hand, Minister Bhusal urged the citizens to make use of the electrical appliances or induction fueled by domestic energy and not the foreign imported gas inorder to strengthen the country's economy while assuring that the government was working to create a conducive environment for Hydropower investors and reduce the electricity tariff rate.
