The Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel during a meeting at Provincial Assembly, yesterday informed that the provincial government provided over Rs 12 million as compensation to flood survivors in the province in the fiscal year 2021-22 respectively .

CM Pokhrel, while assessing the details of the physical damage on many infrastructures in the province from the local levels as well as district administration offices said that, about 502 houses being damaged by the landslide and flood in which about 5 government offices, 7 schools, 6 community buildings, 25 hydrowpower projects, 36 bridges and roadways in 176 other places were destroyed by the natural disaster. He, also gave an insight of the number of casualties count  which reached upto 33 with 44 injured and 2 missing person being reported in the province due to this year's monsoon-induced disaster .

On the other hand, 3,770 people from 731 households who were at risk from the calamities had been relocated to much safer location. Likewise, 4,765 people from 1,205 households were provided relief materials worth Rs 7.9 million whereas the remaining cash were distributed as compensation. He further illustrated that for families losing a member due to a disaster were provided with Rs 200,000 by the federal government and again by the provincial government with a sum of Rs 50,000. Similarly for families of missing the amount was distributed as Rs 50,000 for medical treatment, Rs 25,000 for temporary settlement and Rs 15,000 each as immediate relief.
