The state owned Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) in its report based on population projection (2021-2030) has reported that Internet penetration has reached 102 % of the population in the country while assuming Nepal's population at 29.87 million.

According to the report, nearly 31 million population was connected to Internet till the past fiscal year in which mobile Internet has played a major role for the connectivity (76.03%) since 3G internet service has more than 12.89 million population access with NTC having 10.04 million users and NCell 2.46 million users. Similarly, the number of 4G Internet users have also grown with Nepal Telecom's 4.74 million 4G users and NCell has more than 5 million 4G users.
