    Keeping in view of the coronavirus threat,the local authorities in Pokhara Metropolitan City Ward Number-22 on Friday banned entry of any visitors at the statue of Lord Shiva in Pumdikot, Kaski.

    As the number of COVID-19 infection continues to spike all over Kaski district with 27,158 COVID-19 cases and 459 death tolls whereas in Gandaki Province the infection count has reached 67,183 with 1088 COVID-19 fatalities.(The data as of yesterday has been provided by Gandaki Health Directorate.)Thus,making it imperative for the public to remain vigilant for their own safety as the lockdown has been eased where people have started to resume their normal life.

    Lately,the statue at Pumdikot has been getting a lot of attention from the public and has emerged out as a major tourist attraction, however to prevent the spread of this deadly contagion, the administration has decided to close the Mahadev staue for public until further notice, opined Mitra Lal Baral, the ward chairman of Pokhara-22.
