Rambha Rural Municipality in Palpa district with a budget of NPR 320,000 i.e.three hundred twenty thousand is going to distribute free closed user group (CUG)SIM cards so as to foster online learning for the meager students of community schools.

Earlier on June 15, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology had directed the schools, nationwide to conduct virtual classes in order to start the new academic session while making use of the alternative mediums like radio, internet and so on. Likewise, the rural municipality in Palpa district has decided to join the bandwagon.
'We have introduced a new method of online teaching specifically for the students from low-income families whereby free SIM cards will be provided to students from grades six to twelve as well as to those learners who are deprived of the Internet facility at their homes or the ones living remotely from their school and in this way they could attend the online classes,even in the midst of pandemic',informed Bishnu Prasad Bhandari,the chairperson of Rambha Rural Municipality. According to Bhandari, the 'Free SIM distribution' project which comes under the federal conditional grant scheme could enable the means of communication between the teachers and their students via the phones with closed user group SIM cards.
