Swollen Marshyangdi River damages suspension bridge .

The flooded Marshyangdi River, induced by continuous rainfall,has recently damaged a suspension bridge towards Tanahu section.

The bridge,which links Ekleyphat,Aabhukhaireni Rural Municipality-2 of Tanahu district with Gaupling,Gorkha Municipality-14 has collapsed on Thursday following the floodwater in Marshyangdi River which was triggered by heavy rainfall.

The Chief administrative officer,Bishnu Prasad Pokhrel of Aabhukhaireni Rural Municipality informed that,a team of specialists alongside local authorities have already left to inspect the bridge and quickly carry out the restoration work since public movement has been hindered.

Meanwhile,the ward chairperson, Ram Bahadur Khadka of Gorkha Municipality-14 pointed out that,the locals residing in Gaupling,Gorwung, Salangiri, among other places used this suspension bridge for their daily commute and now with it's present condition their mobility has been obstructed.
