Gandaki Province CM secures vote of confidence.

Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel has won the confidence motion at the Provincial assembly,today.

The speaker of the assembly Netra Nath Adhikari, announced that Pokharel bagged 31 votes in his favour whereas 27 CPN-UML lawmakers voted against him.

Meanwhile, he holds the support from his own party,Nepal Congress and it's coalition partners CPN-Maoist Centre,Janamorcha Party,Janata Samajbadi Party,alongside an independent candidate.

Currently, there are 59 MPs in the province, as earlier,the Supreme Court had rejected the reinstatement order of parliamentary leader Krishna Thapa of Rastriya Janamorcha Party.

On June 12, Pokharel was elected as a CM after his predecessor,Prithvi Subba Gurung didn't garner majority support.

According to the constitutional provision,he had to seek majority votes within a month from his date of designation.However,he tabled the motion, after only a week of coming into power.
