    Gandaki Province Chief Minister,Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel introduced an NPR  30.3 billion, provincial budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 in the assembly meeting, today.

    Since,the distribution of portfolios among his new Council of ministers has not been done yet, so CM Pokharel presented the annual budget plan as the Finance minister,too.

    Some highlights from the released budget:

    • Rs 29.79 billion for the recurrent(43.5%) and capital (55.7%) expenditures while Rs 240 million for financial management has been alloted from the total sum.
    • At the same time,the provincial government is granted with Fiscal equalisation fund of Rs 7.42 billion,Rs 4.18 billion in conditional fund,Rs 873.6 billion in complementary fund and Rs 549 million in special fund from the federal government.
    • Mobilising fund of  Rs 2.10 billion from spare earmark whereas Rs 1 billion will be endorsed like an internal debt from the central government.
    • Rs 1.10 billion funds accorded to the local body with every municipality will be subsidized with Rs 10 million each under the partnership scheme between the  provincial and local government. 
    • The released budget aims at reinforcing the health sector alongside paving ways for job creation,boosting the economy ,infrastructural development, fostering tourism sector in the wake of the pandemic.
    • Rs 500 million allocated for the inception of 'Social security fund' alongside the implementation of social security programmes while coordinating with the federal government. 
    • Rs 5,000 monthly cash support for COVID-19 orphans.
    • Cash relief of Rs 50,000 for deceased person's family.
    • Rs 300 million royalty from the Federal Government.
