The Chief Minister (CM) of Gandaki Province, Krishna Chandra Nepali (Pokharel),after taking the oath of office on Saturday evening has conducted his first provincial government meeting,today. At the same, he is taking the vote of confidence soon and then release the new annual budget plan,promptly.

CM Krishna Chandra Nepali while assuming the responsibility,delibarated about various agendas during the first meeting of the Council,held today.Minister Kumar Khadka was designated as the Spokesperson of the Provincial government whereas other ministers including him, as of yet haven't been assigned with their ministerial portfolios.

CM shares that, his first priority will be on the health and well-being of the public,so a significant amount will be placed for the vaccine allocation in the budget and to cater to provide free medical treatment to women diagnosed with cancer as breast,uterus,mouth,among others. 

'We plan to develop risk preparedness response plans for minimising disaster damage in view of the possible harm caused by the arrival of the monsoon rain in the region',added Nepali.

The current government has also decided to make provisions for the erstwhile Chief Minister of the province which would be governed by designing anew policy.To,which Minister Khadka stated that,without depleting the state assets, the ex-ministers will be accorded with all the utilities.

Meanwhile, CM Nepali, as per the Article 168(5) has to take the vote of motion from the province assembly,within 30 days from his date of appointment and introduce the new budget plan for the fiscal year 2021-22 wherin the budget announcement usually takes place at the first of Nepali month of Asadh (Mid- June).

On the other hand,the former Chief Minister, Prithvi Subba Gurung has held a press conference,today itself mentioning about his tenure during which several development activities were performed including Gandaki Province training institute,Ujyalo Gandaki Province and so forth.
