Nearly 935 stranded tourists were rescued in Pokhara,by the Tourist Police and their respective embassies,from the very beginning of last year's lockdown. A special unit of Nepal Police,'Tourist Police Pokhara' have been assigned to look after their security and then dispatch them safely to their homecountry.
On the other hand, the concerned Nepal Tourism Board, circulated the following notice for the tourist's stuck in Pokhara.
Now,as we have entered lockdown 2.0, owing to the second wave of the pandemic, The Nepal Tourism Board Crisis Management and Communication Unit , formulated under The NTB Board have invented, The Traveller Locator as well as The Evacuation forms to be filled up by individuals and agencies online, which will be forwarded to the respective embassies, after their location is tracked down.
Earlier, The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal had suspended International and domestic flights wherein the ban was extended till May 31st ,but now they have permitted the repatriation flights (June 1 to 30) of airlines like Turkish,Qatar and Air India.
The Immigration Department released the data that, 22,450 foreign visitors from 144 countries entered Nepal in the month of April,2021.
In the context of Pokhara, Last month, some 200 foreign nationals,from countries like Russia, France , Germany, Bangladesh and other's have been located near the surrounding tourists area of Pokhara, when the Covid induced prohibitory order was announced by the government ,which has been confirmed by The Chief of Tourist Police Pokhara, Rajan Rayamajhi as well as Gopi Bhattarai,The Chairman of Pokhara Tourism Council.
According to Rayamajhi,' When the rumours of second lockdown was going on, some 32 tourists left for Kathmandu via chartered plane whereas two Ukrainians were sent off through the rescue cell, after the prohibitory order was called on April.' Meanwhile, he added that, We facilitate for their safe and sound home return while monitoring their temperature with help of experts ,offer them with all kinds of vehicle services and then transport them to Kathmandu through Airways or by any landport facility. This year, the tourist's in Pokhara have not contacted us for their rescue, but if they do,we are ready if they fall in any trouble.

Bhattarai too verified that those tourist's have been staying at nearby hotels, homestays and pointed out that, few tourist's are still residing in the hotels at the Annapurna trekking route. Previously, 10 out of 22 tourist's had been rescued , from the conservation area.
Apart from that some restaurants in Pokhara, during the last year's lockdown had been providing takeaways or food delivery system to the stranded tourist's like Moondance Restaurant, Mount Kailash Resort and Dady's Kitchen respectively. Among them,the former is still operating and on top of that serving free lunches to them.

It should be underlined that the tourist's need to stay at a quarantine hotel prescribed by the Ministry of Culture,Tourism and Aviation for 5 days , afterwards the PCR tests are conducted. The price for accommodation along with 3 meals has been fixed for NPR 3,000 per day.
