After the objections raised by District administration,Kaski,The Covid Community kitchen established by Bibeksheel Sajha Metropolitan Committee, Pokhara and a group of young people at the Western Regional Hospital had been stopped, until further notice.

On May 16th , Bibeksheel Sajha Metropolitan Committee,  Pokhara in coordination with the administration began a free food campaign,'Tato Bhaat ' on the premises of Covid designated Gandaki Hospital. 

The coordinator of the committee,Ajay Shrestha has spoken about the intention behind this noble work to feed the  covid patients, their khuruwas , as well as the in charge health workers in the covid ward of the hospital, in the evening time without any charges. 

He added that,'We prepare the rice along with other condiments at one of our partners restaurant kitchen in Lakeside and then distribute them to the patients here.'

But as they say all good things come to an end.This, too happened in their case as after a week, their campaign was disrupted since the district administration issuing a notice for second times in 5 days directing them to not conduct any food distribution activities for the sake of Coronavirus safety protocol .In fact, they were sent a notice earlier on 17th and later on 20th of May . 

The District Administration Kaski has clearly mentioned that,  Even though the motive behind the work is good but looking over the infection rate, since safety and health standards cannot be met and inorder to prevent the spread of contamination so the food aid won't be permitted.

However, Shrestha condemns this act to curb the committee's selfless human service because they had been serving daily a minimum  plates of 200  to the people administered at this government hospital who in majority come from a very poor economic background and cannot afford to buy food every other day whereas  they did feel that the death rate could also surge due to stravation, that's the reason they have had launched the programme. 

God Father Pizzeria and Nepal Food had joined forces with the team whilst providing them with local produce vegetables, manpower and kitchen to prepare all the items.
