AUDIENCEA Bakery in Kerala’s Ernakulam was forced to remove a ‘halal’ sticker after being threatened by right-winged Hindu Aikya Vedi activists.
A notice, signed by the organization’s Parakkadavu unit president Arun Aravind and secretary Dhanesh Prabhakaran, was sent to the shop on December 28 in which the duo alleged that the ‘halal sign’ was discriminatory in nature and amounted to segregation of food in the name of religion which is “criminal”.
The notice went viral on social media after which cops arrested the unit president Aravind and three other people and a case was registered against the four right-wing activists.
