The DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft carrying 19 passengers (13 Nepalese ,4 Indians, 2 Germans ) and three crew members had crashed in a hillside and unfortunately all the occupants couldn't make it .

As stated by the Civil Aviation Authority, on May 29, the aircraft of Tara Air during its third shift was heading towards Jomsom from Pokhara Regional Airport in an early morning (9: 55 am) but all of a sudden at exactly 10: 07 am, the aircraft lost contact with the air traffic controller wherein the rescue mission was put on hold yesterday owing to the bad weather condition. Moreover, a team of people from Nepal Police, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force were again deployed at the crash site today to recover the dead bodies where the crashed plane was first discovered by locals who had gone to collect yarshagumba at the site of Sano Sware Bhir of Thasang Rural Municipality-2 of Mustang district. So far, 21 bodies have been recovered.
