Lumbini Province Government launches 10-year strategies to abolish early marriage.

Minister Rama Gharti who holds the department of Law, Women, Children and Senior Citizens has unveiled the plan against the social problem which remains prevalent in the province and is clearly hopeful in the implementation part as the provincial government is planning to avert the scenario of early marriage within 2030.

Some of the key points in the strategy includes the activation of awareness programmes in educational institutions, accelerating capacity-building drive to the guardians, setting up social surveillance for those vulnerable children as well as many plan of actions to empower and safeguard those minors. The government is also going to carry out research in the broad area of child marriage in all local unit so that they could identify the root cause of the problem and approach it by adopting effective policy.
