Electricity tariff to be waived from mid-November .

The new and improved power rate formulated by the Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) will be implemented from mid-November(Mangshir) and from mid-December(Poush)the billing process will be carried out wherein a minimum charge of Rs 30 is set for users with 5 ampere electricity line on 20 units.

With the announcement by ERC the tarriff rate for the people consuming electricity on - 250 units from single phase line is at Rs 9.5 per and Rs 3 per unit for more than 20 units unit whereas Rs 11 per unit will be charged on 400 units of energy use and accounts for nearly 2.84 per cent reduction. Similarly, consumers on a single phase line with 5, 15 and 25 units of electricity usage would be paying about Rs 100, Rs 125 and Rs 150 but within the same ampere of energy consumption the households using more than 400 units will need to pay monthly around Rs 150, Rs 175, Rs 200 and Rs 250.
