This is certainly not heard of that a woman is allowed to participate in the cremation rituals nor can we picturize any female carrying the dead body but today times have changed as women are ready to break the shackles of a patriarchal society and rather have created a world of acceptance where recently few women were seen carrying the corpse to the funeral pyre.

In particular, the all-women members of Vedavyas Senior Citizens Ashram located at Byas Municipality-5 carried 86-year-old Jagat Bahadur Adhikari's dead body to the cremation ground in Damaulighat. Proving a point that a female can also get involved in funeral rites and no longer needs to look out for other male family members or friends and neighbours.
