Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba was present today to unveil the newly built monument at the Regional Museum, Pokhara.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology and Social Development of Gandaki Province had constructed the monument to mark the fact that the province has the highest number of literate people(average literacy rate stands at 96.57%) in which Nawalpur district at 98% has topped the list whereas Lamjung district is in the lowest rank with 95.5% literacy rate.

Similarly, the literacy rate of other districts are as follows:

Kaski - 96%
Tanahu - 96.4%
Manang - 96.9%
Syangja - 96.16%
Myagdi - 96.27%
Mustang - 96.35%
Baglung - 96.57%
Parbat - 96.93%
Gorkha - 97.2%

Meanwhile, PM was received on the airport by Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel and Province Chief Prithviman Gurung, among other officials.
