The Nobel Peace Prize 2021 winning duo as confirmed by Berit Reiss Andersen - the chairwoman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee are Filipino journalist Maria Ressa and Russian journalist Dmitry Muratov.

They have been conferred with this prestigious honour because the amount of selfless contribution they have led to form a just and suitable society whilst constantly fighting for the rights of the people and using their same power of words to bring about that change. Ressa is a co-owner of the digital media company which revolves around investigative journalism had covered the famous case on Duterte regime and anti-drug campaigns. On the other hand, Muratov is a veteran who has fought for the freedom of expression in Russia from many years on is a confounder of the renowned newspaper Novaja Gazeta which only publishes fact based news and reports on many social problems like corruption , electoral fraud and so on.
