PMC introduces new provisions for pet dogs.

The metropolis office in Pokhara has introduced a new provision whereby any pet dogs are nowhere to be left in the streets and if the rules are broken, then a fine of Rs 5,000 - Rs 15,000 will be charged for the offenders.

As per the Pokhara Metropolitan City (PMC), the owners need to register about the pet dogs in their respective wards and then get a certificate or rearing permit such that each registered dogs who are found to be defecating in any public places will be identified as the administration will also tagg the dog ears incase they need to contact with their owners. Deputy Chief Manju Devi Gurung was quoted as saying,'The ward number 8 has already started this movement and we are also expecting the others to follow that issue has been hampering the health as well as crippled the beauty of Pokhara because of the open defecation culture.
