Paragliding,over 21 years since its inception in this town, has stood out as a best-loved leisure pursuit for anyone visiting Pokhara to try out the services. But, then Covid happened and everything came to a standstill including this industry. However, after a long wait of 5 months, while fighting this second wave of contagion coronavirus, the paragliding operators have been planning to operate soon.

Krishna Bhandari, the chairperson at Nepal Airsports Association, said, ' In accordance with the government decision to lift the prohibitory order , we are planning to resume our services in a couple of days'. As stated in RSS, Bhandari further added,' We have organised a paragliding safety and awareness programme where all the companies conducted test flights before resuming their services including the checking of the condition of the paragliding devices to be used'.
Meanwhile, the paragliding companies during the first lockdown had offered significant discount of Rs 2,500 to 3,000(50%-60%)but they are yet to decide the prices time around, as before the pandemic, people used to pay between Rs 5,000- 8,000, respectively commented, Balaram Acharya,the general secretary of Nepal Airsports Association.
