With an estimation of collecting Rs 260 million via last year's property tax, the Pokhara Metropolitan City(PMC) office however failed to do so with a limited collection of Rs 70 million only when infact the metropolis revenue collection from the entertainment and advertisement sector remained zero.

The Chief of the Finance Section of the PMC, Jayram Poudel, at an annual progress review meeting of the Metropolis organised in the city while presenting the report stated that, the metropolis expenditure dropped to 66% whilst failing to collect the revenue owing to the pandemic which affected to implement various developmental projects here. Moreover,they have collected Rs 218 million, instead of the target of Rs 350 million from the tax of riverbed materials like sands , stones, etc. 

The report clearly mentions about 87% spending on current expenditure whereas 50.5% on the capital expenditure. In the past fiscal year, the budget of the Metropolis was Rs 5.51 billion and the entire expenditure was Rs 3.68 billion. Similarly, the expenditure of the Education sector contributed the highest (91.37%) to the total sum/ spending followed by the Social Development Division with 45.44% . Also, of the total Rs 1.34 billion budget allotted for the division of education , Rs 1.23 billion was spent and the Social Development Division out of Rs 102.27 million had spent Rs 46.04 million. Besides that, the expenditure of the infrastructure development was Rs 1.29 billion out of the total sum of Rs 2.68 billion.
