Press Council Nepal against the disputable media bill of Gandaki.

The Press Council Nepal has urged the Gandaki Province Government for the withdrawal of the media bill and have further questioned the provisions in the bill which were quite damaging the press freedom and rights as guaranteed by the Constitution of Nepal.

Press Council Nepal while giving their official statement on the press release, commented,'The bill has ridiculed the spirit of journalism and incorporated provisions like anyone against whom the news is made could take action against the reporter, strictness in the registration of printing and publication, imprisonment and fine for violation of code of conduct (as mentioned in RSS ) and so on that appalls press freedom as well as journalist's rights.
