The daily routine of Ram Pravesh Rana of Laljhadi Gaonpalika-4 Chandapur has changed after he started cultivating sugarcane in the river. He has been cultivating sugarcane in Bagar of Doda river for the last five years. Rana is known in the village as the highest earning farmer by cultivating sugarcane in Bagar.A decade and a half ago, floods in the Doda River swept away the lands of many families, including him, and turned them into Bagar. After the river washed away the land, Rana was forced to move elsewhere to support his family.

According to Coordinator Ghimire, the farmers had earned Rs.10 lakh,93 Thousand Necessary training has been provided to the farmers who have been cultivating sugarcane and also demonstrations related to improved sugarcane cultivation have been organized.

Rana said "Necessary tools and equipments for sugarcane cultivation have also been provided to the farmers as a grant from the project."

By cultivating vegetables in Bagar alone, the farmers had earned Rs.63 Lakh And 60 Thousand. Laxman Rana, agricultural technician of the project, said that the farmers of Tilki and Sikalpatti have earned Rs. 1 Lakh 57 thousand.
