In reference to the election security threat, the Pokhara Metropolitan City with 98 polling stations and 242 polling booths has been categorized as normal by the Election Security Committee.

However, in the context of Kaski district, as there are around 150 voting stations and 336 polling booths, security measures have been tightened in some of the places such as the rural municipalities which are categorized as highly sensitive and sensitive respectively by the Election Security Committee. To be precise, 50 out of 150 voting stations have been put under the highly sensitive zone owing to many factors like geography, road condition, previous history of any brawls among others. As explained by the District Police Office, Kaski, the security will be handled by the Nepal Police, Myadi Police, Armed Police Force and Nepali Army respectively.
