District Health Office, Tanahu reports 201 TB cases.

The number of tuberculosis patients have reached 201 in Tanahu district in this 8 months of the current fiscal year (2021-22).

The district health office, Tanahu has stated that, out of the registered cases, 130 have been confirmed as noninfectious while the treatment for TB includes prescribed medicine/ antibiotics for atleast 6 months. Even though, the patients receive their treatment at 50 centres and 9 laboratories located in the district and the recovery rate has been recorded at 82.1 % the authorities are however finding it difficult to keep a track of the number of infected patients as most of the people are reluctant to show up at the health clinics owing to lack of awareness, misconception among other factors.
