GBIA begins operation for domestic flights.

Nepal's second international airport, Gautam Buddha International Airport located in Rupanehi, Lumbini has begun its operation today where Yeti Airlines operated the first flight from the newly built runway of the airport.

From today onwards, all domestic flights would be operated from the new 3,500 meters runway while the old 1,500 meters long runway has been transformed as a taxiway. The airport which has been placed as a national pride project will conduct international flights on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti.
