Government of Nepal adds typhoid conjugate vaccine as a part of routine immunization system.

The vaccination campaign beginning from April 8 till May 1 is supported by some of the leading institutions like Gavi the vaccine alliance, World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and others.

TCV vaccine will be administered to children within the age group of 15 months to 15 years where the government will run the campaign in more than 50,000 locations across the country. Moreover, schools have also been converted as the vaccinated centre such that those children could have an easy access. This move has been applauded by the experts since the children in this particular age are prone to get infected with bacterial disease like typhoid and is indeed considered life threatening so by introducing the typhoid vaccine will prove to be beneficial as typhoid fever is mostly prevalent in a country like ours.
