CNP reports wildlife fatalities in the first 8 months of the current fiscal year.

The officials of Chitwan National Park has reported the deaths of 152 wildlife such as rhinoceros, leopard, deer, python among others between the months of July 1 to mid-February.

The death toll of chital deer is recorded as the highest being 70 while 32 rhinos were killed in this period. Similarly, other wildlife including 9 deers, 2 tigers, 10 wild water buffalo's, 2 pythons, 3 ratuwas, 4 lagunas, 2 wild boars, 1 water goose, 1 yellow monitor lizard's and so on other varieties of species like the mammals, reptiles, aquatic animals have died. Moreover, the authorities have revealed that most of the animals died naturally and few were the victims of poaching, reckless driving leading to the animals being hit by the vehicles and illegal hunting.
