17-year-old student drowns in Marshyangdi River.

After the death of a 10th grade student of Future Star Boarding School living in a hostel had gone for swimming in the Marshyangdi river on March 8 (Tuesday), a prohibitory order imposed by the local administration at Sundar Bazar, Lamjung on the day after (Wednesday) has been finally lifted.

The deceased has been identified as Sanij Shrestha (17) of Bhanu Municipality-9, Tanahu who according to the relatives of Shrestha died due to the carelessness of the hostel administration as he died from drowning in the river. Furthermore, the school's property including a van and windowpanes of two buses was destroyed by the infuriated kith and kin. On the other hand, the Chief District Office was left with no choice but to impose a restrictive order so as to prevent any further destruction and after coming to an agreement the family members have decided to abide by the laws and will not demonstrate this aggressive behaviour in future thereby prompting the administration to lift the prohibitory order of that locality.
