Nepal Rastra Bank limits the import of gold.

Nepal Rastra Bank has tightened the provision of import on gold to 10 kg a day whereas before this new amendment, 20 kg of gold used to be bought from overseas.

Other than gold, the banking institution has toughened the quota on import of goods such as cosmetics, chocolate, milk powder, clove, cashew nut, ketchup, cocoa powder, shampoo and so on. Moreover, they took this step to minimize the provision of import of 47 units in view of the declining foreign currency reserve.
