H5N1 avian flu cases reported in Chitwan.

Avian influenza which is commonly known as, Bird flu has been detected at a farm in Chitwan district.

On February 8, the concerned authorities had collected the sample from Anita Livestock Agriculture Farm, Rapti Municipality-6 wherein the test result confirmed the H5N1 virus infection in the chicken species. Similarly, as stated in RSS, the officials will also destroy birds and chickens within 100 m of the same agriculture farm. Moreover, the DAO, Chitwan has urged the people to not buy or sell any poultry items as they have been inspecting some other farms too and will likely collect the samples for testing so as to control the outbreak of any bird flu in the district.
