Lamjung witnesses this year's lowest honey production.

Owing to bad weather condition among other factors such as unseasonal rainfall, the district which is noted as one of the most suitable places for honey production with almost around 382 beekeepers being registered here, this year, however, the farmers could not produce enough honey just like in previous year's.

The present year's honey production is 30 tons of honey from the total of 11,500 beehives whereas in the former year 38 tons of honey were produced from around 11,100 beehives respectively as informed by the Agriculture Information Centre, Lamjung to RSS. Moreover, a wide range of customers from nearby cities Pokhara, Chitwan to the capital city Kathmandu have been consuming the product which costs at a range from Rs 850-1,000 per kg.
