Oncoming provision : Driving license on the day you pass the test

The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport claims people passing driving license tests will get their licenses on the day of the tests itself within two months.

In a recent meeting of the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives, Transport Secretary Rabindra Man Shrestha said the hassle involved in obtaining the license even after passing the test will be over in the next two months.

He informed the Departmend of Transport Management has been printing as many as around 8,000 licenses a day these days to end the backlog.

Earlier, the Department of Transport Management had said those waiting for their pending driving licenses will also get them in the next one and a half months.
