Amik Sherchan assumes office as Province Chief of Lumbini.

Earlier, President Bidya Devi administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed province chief of Lumbini on Wednesday.

While taking charge of his office,today the newly appointed chief of Lumbini Province, Amik Sherchan said that he would be discharging his duties as a province head by acting in accordance with the rules of the constitution of Nepal in a peaceful manner. 'We must not build an environment that goes beyond the right as defined in the constitution nor should be interpreting the laws to our own liking in contrast with the spirit of the constitution, Sherchan added. He stated that,the current federal system incorporating inclusiveness and proportionate measures were an excellent example of representation for the internal community too which thereby needed to be implemented aptly just like that in the constitution.Sherchan,underscored the importance of improving the standards of those living in remote and village areas wherein the state government had to keep them in top priority as the notion of economic prosperity could only foster if theirs living standards progressed significantly.
