Allium Wallichii,referred to as wild garlic, is one of the protected plants found in Nepal due to its profound medical use and high market value (ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000).In particular,people who have had been infected with COVID-19 contagion,have sought out the plant,as a part of their curing process. Thereby,being in high demand,people have been illegally selling the banned medicinal herbs despite knowing that,Nepal government had put an outlaw on it's purchase.
Maila Gurung 'Kancha' and Jit Bahadur Gurung were detained for being in possession of 29.9 kg of wild garlic by District Police Office,Manang. Though,the men are originally from the same municipality,the former accused resides in Gumja village whereas the latter is from Lapu village respectively.

The herbs were seized from Kancha's room and then the offenders were taken to District forest office for further interrogation, revealed,DSP Shambu Khadka of District Police office,Manang.
