Mugling-Pokhara road widening project will cost 7,000 trees to be chopped.

As many as 7,000 trees are going to be cut for the road expansion work wherein the contractors responsible to upgrade the roadways belong to this two Chinese companies - China Community Constructions and Anhui Kaiyuan Highway and Bridge Construction Ltd.

The Mugling-Pokhara road stretch along the Prithvi Highway is going to be extended to four lanes and so the Division Forest Office, Tanahu along with the Department of Forest has already given a nod to chop down 6,750 trees around Tanahu area. However, the construction company is yet to receive permission from the authorities of Kaski district inorder to cut some 1,250 trees.So far, the work has been divided into two sections i.e. 41.45 km long Aabhukhaireni-Jamune East section and 39 km long Jamune-Pokhara East section respectively.
