    Kathmandu, The launch of the Ready to Learn and Play Guidebook took place on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Hotel Yak and Yeti in Durbarmarg.

    The guidebook is a product of the Ready to Read and Play project implemented by the Asia Foundation, with the support of All Children Reading: A Grand Challenge for Development, a partnership between USAID, World Vision, and Australian Aid.

    The launch was attended by a range of stakeholders, including government officials, representatives from the Asia Foundation and All Children Reading, and members of the local community. The event began with an introduction from Shameera Shrestha, who outlined the objectives of the project. These included reaching at least 505 children, increasing awareness among parents and children regarding the importance of developing learning habits, and actively engaging pre-primary children in their learning. Following the introduction, a number of speakers took to the stage to highlight the importance of pre-primary education and their commitment to improving education outcomes in the country.

    Deputy Director Rudra Prasad Adhikari, Baburam Dhungana Prakash Dash, Anup, and Preti Thapa all spoke about their priorities for education in Nepal and the role that initiatives like the Ready to Read and Play project can play in supporting children's learning and development.

    The highlight of the event was the launch of the Ready to Learn and Play Guidebook itself. The book is aimed at parents who want to educate their children through the medium of games, with a focus on knowledge development in children. Parent involvement is most important in learning process of early childhood.

    As we know that house is first school and parent are the first teacher So, to make learning easier and effective there should be proper guidance to the parents too. For that cause, this book was launched. The book consists of different activities that parents can do with their children over a period of 30 weeks. The launch was well-received by attendees, who praised the Asia Foundation and its partners for their efforts in promoting early childhood education and providing parents with the tools they need to support their children's learning.

    Many attendees spoke about the importance of early childhood education and the role that parents can play in supporting their children's learning and development. Overall, the launch of the Ready to Learn and Play Guidebook was a resounding success, with attendees praising the Asia Foundation and its partners for their efforts to promote early childhood education in Nepal.
